Dr.Aggangan named as 2016 Gawad Saka Outstanding Agri Scientist

Dr. Nelly S. Aggangan of UPLB-BIOTECH was awarded as the Gawad Saka Outstanding Agricultural Scientist for 2016 (National and Regional Level) on 12 December in awarding rites held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.  She  was cited for her exemplary work as a researcher and scientist in the areas of agriculture and forestry, notably on her contributions to Mycorhizza Technology, Bioremediation, Forest Restoration and Plant Nutrition.

The Gawad Saka Award, which is hosted by the Department of Agriculture, is an annual search for outstanding achievers in the field of agriculture and fisheries. The annual search is aimed at honoring the invaluable contribution of the agricultural sector in the country’s economic performance, including farmers, fisherfolk, livestock raisers, farmers’ organizations, agri-entrepreneurs, and scientists.
