The Fermentation Engineering Services Laboratory (FESL) provides expertise and technical support in the optimization and scaling-up of various fermentation and biotechnological processes and unit operations towards commercialization or full-scale production operations. The FESL manages the BIOTECH Pilot Plant which is a one of its kind pilot-scale fermentation facility in the University of the Philippines System and in the entire country for that matter. The FESL endeavors to offer routine services related towards the fulfilment of its vision and mandate.

The Pilot Plant equipment can also be utilized by UP researchers and students, government agency researchers, and private individuals upon approval of the request by the director.
