Biotechnology for Agriculture and Forestry Program

The BAFP develops and applies biotechnology strategies to address ecosystem renewal and sustainable productivity. The program undertakes researches on biofertilizers, plant growth regulators, biostimulants, nano biosensors and animal vaccines.

BAFP products and technologies are intended to address agricultural sustainability while reducing costs of production. These innovative products and technologies are a huge stride in advancing market competitiveness of agricultural produce and increased revenue contributing to significant socio-economic impact to stakeholders.

The objectives of the BAFP are: • To strengthen agricultural sustainability by increasing productivity and quality using innovative biotechnological techniques. • To reduce the costs of agricultural chemical inputs.• To contribute to significant socio-economic impact to stakeholders through increased income.
